That is the headline on Black Diamond's own about page, and it fits the work. Roofing comes first. Around it the crew also does siding, painting, skylights and solar tubes, and windows. In the company's words, they “all come with the same promise of quality, dedication, and durability.”
Black Diamond describes itself as licensed, bonded and insured, and as “an experienced general contractor with knowledge passed down from some of the best in the business.” That is why a patio cover or a solar tube can come from the same crew that re-roofs the house.

Black Diamond says it is a certified installer through three manufacturers: GAF, Malarkey and Owens Corning. On its own site it adds that this lets the company offer warranties “anywhere from 5-50 years,” along with free estimates.
Black Diamond also publishes a GAF Master Elite badge. As Black Diamond puts it, “The GAF Master Elite Certification is the highest-level roofing certification in the country,” and “only 2% of all roofing contractors in North America have qualified as Master Elite contractors!”

A free roof for a healthcare worker, during COVID-19.
Roofing Contractor magazine reported in April 2020 that Black Diamond was teaming up with GAF Roofing and MacArthur Company to give away a roof to a deserving local healthcare worker. The donation covered labor and materials.
Josh told the ABC-affiliated station KATU that several of his friends work in the medical field, and that he had seen the hours they were putting in. In his words: “As a company we wanted to give back to the community during this kind of ‘corona craziness’ is what I'm calling it.”
The giveaway is over. Black Diamond later announced the winner on its own site and posted a video, which you can find on the gallery page.
August 2018 · San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Two weeks on a ministry roof.
Josh spent two weeks in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with the Raise The Roof group of True Disciples ministry, based in Kennewick. It was his seventh trip to Honduras since 2012.
He partnered with three other missionaries from the Tri-Cities to replace the old, leaky roof on the ministry home. Raise The Roof raised $5,000.00 to pay for all the materials, and the job also gave work to local Hondurans.
