Black Diamond Roofing & Construction · Richland, WA

Roof replacement and repair for the Tri-Cities, from a Richland crew working since 2003.

We don't jump from job to job. Once we start your roof, we stay on it until it's done, and most roofs are finished within a day or two.

The View is Always Better from the Top

Every roof a facet of the same stone.

These are Black Diamond's own finished jobs from around the Tri-Cities, walked one after another the way the crew remembers them: by the roof, not the street. Turrets, river views, standing seam and townhome rows, all from the same Richland crew.

Victorian home with a turret and wraparound porch under a new dark shingle roof

Architectural shingle · turret

A Victorian turret, re-roofed to the finial.

Cone roofs are where a crew shows its patience: every course has to taper toward the point without a gap or a kink. Dark architectural shingle carries from the turret down onto the wraparound porch roof in one unbroken colour.

New shingle hip roof with the Columbia River visible past the eave

Hip roof · river view

Four slopes meeting on one clean hip.

A hip roof has no gable ends to hide behind, so every ridge line shows. Here the hips run straight to the peak with ridge cap laid tight, and the river sits just past the eave.

Standing-seam metal

Red standing seam on a river-view home.

Metal is a different trade from shingle: long panels, concealed fasteners and seams that have to run true over every valley. From the drone the panels read as one sheet across three roof planes.

Drone view down a row of townhomes with matching new roofs

Multi-unit · townhome row

A whole row of townhome roofs, matched.

On a townhome row the job is consistency: the same shingle, the same exposure and the same ridge line from the first unit to the last, so the street reads as one building.

Stone-front home with three dormers under a new roof and flowering trees

Dormers · stone front

Three dormers stepped into a new roof.

Every dormer adds two valleys and a run of step flashing against the siding. That is where most roof leaks start, which is why the flashing matters more than the shingle.

Cream Cape Cod home with a dormer under a new dark shingle roof

Cape Cod · full replacement

A Cape Cod with a new roof and a clean drip edge.

A steep, simple roof that every neighbour can see from the sidewalk. The finish is in the edges: straight drip edge, even shadow lines and a ridge that sits level the whole way across.

The truck in your driveway

When the black truck pulls up, the roof gets finished.

The diamond on the box truck is Black Diamond's own mark, on the trucks and on the work. Once the crew starts your roof, they stay on it until it's done.

One job, told by the customer · Google review

“We needed to redo our roofing because our old roof was approaching its end of life. Our search and references from our friends showed that Black Diamond Roofing has very good reputation and that they do a great job. When we contacted Black Diamond for an estimate, their sales representative, Aaron came in promptly, inspected the old roof and explained the various roofing options and then sent us an estimate. The estimate was reasonable, and we chose GAF Timberline HDZ shingles for roof with 50 year material and 10 year workmanship warranty. On the roofing day, five workers arrived at our place and set to work. They were apparently well-trained and were safety conscious because they all wore harnesses when they were on top of the roof. They worked diligently, first stripping the old roof off that took half a day, and for rest of day they went ahead lay the new roofing. After the roofing was completed, the workers diligently cleaned up all scraps of old shingles around the property and using a magnet also collected stray roofing nails. When the job was finished, Josh, the owner of the company, inspected the finished roof to make sure the job had been done appropriately. Overall, Black Diamond Roofing is a very dependable company, and their roofing work is above par at reasonable cost. We highly recommend this well-established local company roofing work.”

A free roof for a Tri-Cities healthcare worker.

In the first weeks of COVID-19, Black Diamond teamed up with GAF and MacArthur Company to give a new roof, labour and materials, to a deserving local healthcare worker. Josh Shupe told KATU that several of his friends work in medicine and he had watched the hours they were putting in. In his words: “As a company we wanted to give back to the community during this kind of ‘corona craziness’ is what I'm calling it.”

The roof on a ministry home.

Josh spent two weeks in Honduras with the Raise The Roof group of True Disciples ministry, based in Kennewick, on his seventh trip there since 2012. With three other Tri-Cities missionaries he replaced the old, leaky roof on the ministry home, with $5,000.00 raised for materials and work for local Hondurans on the job.
